Permit Expediter

MMA is seeking an experienced Permit Expediter to facilitate the process of obtaining various approvals from local jurisdictions in numerous states.

In this role, you will work within our Permitting Department in our Neptune, New Jersey office.

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR:

We are seeking a Permit Expediter with the following qualifications:

-Minimum of 2 years’ experience as a permit expediter or in a similar role within the construction industry

-Strong administrative skills to complete and submit forms either electronically, or as otherwise required

-Excellent communication skills; this role involves spending time calling and speaking with various jurisdictions

-Knowledge of building codes and zoning a plus

-Must be able to balance several tasks simultaneously

-Additional hours may be required at times to meet time-sensitive project due dates

WHAT YOU CAN EXPECT:

As a Permit Expediter at MMA, you can look forward to:

-Navigating the approval process from start to finish, obtaining various types of permits, including construction, HVAC and fire

-Reviewing project plans and documentation to ensure all necessary permits are identified and applied for

-Developing strong relationships with city officials, government agencies, firm clients and contractors

-Submitting permit applications to the appropriate agencies, ensuring that they are processed in a timely manner

-Coordinating with project managers, architects, and engineers to gather required documentation and resolve any issues that may arise during the permitting process

-Tracking the status of permit applications and following up as necessary to expedite approval

-Some field responsibilities may include traveling to local offices to obtain permits, and meeting with local agencies & customers

-Performing administrative and follow-up tasks as necessary
