Job Description

The Event Staging Production Supervisor is a high-level technical/leadership role. In this position, the incumbent has gained a vast amount of varied field experience and exhibits the highest level of leadership in the Audio-Visual industry. The Production Supervisor will function in their experienced field as a dedicated technician/engineer while concurrently functioning as an onsite leader contributing to the overall scope of the event with client interaction and input. Their technical expertise will ensure the event adheres to the stringent quality IMS sets forth event wide. This Production Supervisor will be intrinsically motivated toward personal excellence within their expertise and in most cases be appointed a leadership position within the scope of an event they will be responsible for supporting. They may also be responsible for show flow in their particular location or event-wide and must solicit input from clients to drive the event, communicating client needs/desires to other crew members in a concise technical fashion to ensure excellence.

Position Accountabilities and Expectations:

  • Provide advance planning, logistics and documentation support for the event in coordination with the Production Manager to ensure onsite success.
  • Act as the overall lead or lead in designated areas on the jobsite as Production Supervisor with the ability to teach either audio, video, or lighting as needed.
  • Expected to quote small to mid-sized events and assist in quoting and coordinating activities for larger events under the direction of a Senior Production Manager
  • Consistently demonstrate strong leadership skills and accountability through technical and operational event support for live, studio, and virtual productions through concise and real-time communication
  • Supervise and delegate onsite tasks to onsite crew in a timely and professional manner in accordance with event scope and timeline with adherence to industry and local standards for breaks and meals.
  • Ability to interact and communicate with clients; interpret and execute their requests both in advance of and onsite.
  • A quick learner with advanced skills in coaching team on related audio/video/lighting and live event skills.
  • Maintain and update Outlook with tasks, appointments, meetings, and other event-related activities.
  • Ability to be trained and understand different manufacturers’ products.
  • Significant knowledge of all AV disciplines.
  • Learn, understand, and follow company processes to provide additional support to the Production Management team as assigned.
  • Other duties required by the Company in support of business objectives.

What you will bring:

  • 5-7 years of related experience in live event production
  • College degree in a related field preferred
  • A strong knowledge of our industry, live events, technology products, and services, as well as those of our competitors and clients to make sound decisions.
  • Capable of working independently or leading any size team
  • Exceptional communication, organizational and problem-solving skills to effectively manage numerous events and resources simultaneously.
  • Client-facing experience is critical, must be comfortable and polished, presenting information to groups; as well as effectively responding to feedback from clients and project team.
  • A demonstrated and consistently positive attitude in high-pressure situations while driving successful results in accordance with the client’s vision.
  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment with strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to apply best practices and learnings from previous events to elevate the performance level of self and team.
  • An ability to work nights and weekends, as necessary.
  • Event quoting experience a plus.
  • Excellent driving record
